PROBLEM:
Holy moly, has my son been sick this year! He started preschool last August, and as I write this, it is April and he is sick for at least his sixth time. I’m talking fever, home from school, pathetic little dude who is legitimately sick.
SOLUTION:
My 7 Secrets to Surviving Preschool Germs so your household makes it through cold and flu season in one piece (more or less).
Tell me if this scene sounds familiar – I’m just settling into bed for the night when my son starts screaming at the top of his lungs and then coughs until he throws up his entire dinner all over the hallway floor.
Sure enough, he’s burning up. I give him Tylenol, get him cleaned up, and help him get back to sleep. We spend the next day trying to keep him from running around too much and spraying Lysol generously in his wake.
And I think we can all agree that quarantining a 3-year-old away from his baby sister is a pipe dream, which means that she’s not long behind with her fever and cough (We spent the night of New Year’s Day this year in the ER because our then 6-month-old had an upper-respiratory infection and a gnarly ear infection. Wah-wah.)
Teaching for all of my adult life has helped me develop a ridiculous immune system, but clearly my little ones are still working on their immunities.
